This Amazing Castle was built by the Dukes of Savoy in the fifteenth century, a period in which the family began to expand its territorial domains over the region.
Its construction dates back to the 15th century, with some restorations and modifications from the end of the 19th century and others carried out at the beginning of the 20th. All its walls are built with stone ashlars and elements of medieval, Gothic and Renaissance decoration: arches, cornices, towers and battlements. The multiple existing architectural details, both outside and inside the building, bear witness to successive periods of transformations, adaptations and restorations. Although a diversity of elements and styles from different periods (medieval, Flamboyant Gothic and Renaissance) coexist in the complex, the style that prevails over the rest is Renaissance. The Castle is distributed over four floors: basement, main floor, first, second and third. The ground floor includes: to the right of the main access, the kitchens and a dining room; to the left, the grand main hall and three large reception rooms lined up along the east wing. The main entrance, with access from the north façade, also allows access to the main courtyard facing south. The reception rooms are richly decorated with oak parquet flooring, fine craftsmanship woodwork, carved stone fireplaces, tapestries and painted beamed ceilings. The distribution gallery also has an elevator. The first floor includes five rooms distributed in one wing and six more in the other wing.
The floor can be accessed by two stone stairs and also by elevator. Some rooms have fireplaces and are decorated with handcrafted woodwork. One of the rooms, located in the east wing, has direct access to a terrace. The second floor, which can also be accessed by elevator, includes a set of six rooms, half with sloping ceilings, and a 120 m2 terrace. The third floor, which includes a further six rooms, is accessed from the second floor via a separate wooden staircase. The roofs are built with slate, only a small part is made with ceramic tile. The cellars and part of the heating installations are located on the basement floor. The building is equipped with central heating, generated by two diesel boilers: a main boiler, which feeds the entire Castle, with a 3,000-litre tank located outside the east wing; and another secondary boiler, located in the basement, under the kitchens, which distributes heat to these and to a sector of the first floor, with another second tank for 3,000 liters of fuel also buried outside. The Castle can be used as a private residence or be adapted �`also�` for hotel uses. The current owners have drawn up a project to build a hotel and a sports complex.
